Shavuot 5784
5:45 p.m. Yizkor Ritual in the FLC
The joy of our Festival holidays are tempered by the pain of loss and grief. A Yizkor memorial service is held during every Festival. Join us for a brief Yizkor ritual for all who need a place to mourn and remember.

6:30 p.m. Pot luck kugel and blintz supper
Bring a tray of your favorite kugel or blintz recipe.

7:00 p.m. Learning with the clergy and you
Rabbi Chuck, Rabbi Eric, Rabbi Paula, and Cantor Berlin will share a brief teaching on a favorite piece of Jewish text as we celebrate the Festival of Shavuot.

8:30 p.m. Cheesecake and Ice Cream Oneg
Shavuot is the last Festival holiday that we celebrate in the Jewish calendar year. Shavuot commemorates the giving and receiving of the Torah and is marked by two special customs; one is to share pieces of meaningful Torah learning, the other, connected to the harvest and to the land “flowing with milk and honey”, is to eat dairy foods. Join us as we share a pot-luck supper featuring kugels and blintzes and other traditional dairy delights for Shavuot followed by “speed learning”.
