ShAAK stands for Shir Ami Active Adult Kehillah (Community).

.

ShAAK was founded to engage Shir Ami’s empty nesters, retirees, and all those who wish to join them and continue to connect and grow with Shir Ami.  A variety of social and educational opportunities take place throughout the calendar year.
Activities are planned throughout the year by the leadership of the group and its attendees. Suggestions always welcome!

SENIOR BRUNCH

Senior Brunch is Always Buzzing!

These popular brunches are held on Sundays four or five times a year (September - June) in Shalom Hall. A team of volunteers prepares the food in advance and serves it on the day of the brunch. (see below if you are interested in volunteering)
Our dairy-style buffet brunch typically begins at 10:30am.   A 50/50 drawing is generally held after brunch, followed by the entertainment (musicians, entertainers and/or lecturers). The event is usually over by 12:30pm

The RSVP date is 10 days before the date of the Brunch. The best way to RSVP is to register online or mail the form to Shir Ami with your check payable to SHIR AMI.

The brunch flyers are automatically mailed (and emailed) to people who have attended a brunch as well as to all senior members of Shir Ami.

If you need a flyer you can call Shir Ami at 215-968-3400.  For more information, please click this link to contact Mel Berman.

We have been honored to present many well-known performers and lecturers over the years here at Shir Ami.  These include Broadway singers, authors, historians, and accomplished musicians.
Shir Ami's Senior Brunch is always an entertaining and educational morning!  Some of our past talent includes:

Tri County Band  •  Jessie Barth  •  Tom Baust   •   Ethan & Josh Fisher
Will Hammerstein   •  Linda Kenyon  •  Elizabeth Knecht  •  John A Nagy  •  Claudia Pellegrini
Carol Polis   •.  Rebecca Schwartz   •.  Jenny Lee Stern

WANT TO VOLUNTEER?

Senior Brunch is in need of volunteers to help with food preparation for the Brunch buffet:
This group of volunteers, led by Barbara Cohen, mainly works to set up and prepare the food for the buffet. To make the job easier, we are looking for additional helpers.  The group meets two days before the date of the brunch. They place food in containers and on serving platters, and other miscellaneous work, such as slicing tomatoes and onions and putting items, such as cream cheese, butter and pastries into convenient serving portions.

On the morning of the Brunch, the volunteers take items from and place them on the buffet serving tables.  If you are interested in being a volunteer or would like more information, please contact Barbara Cohen or Mel Berman.
