7:00 PM - 8:30 PMvia ZOOMOn the evening of November 4th, 1995, tens of thousands gathered for a Peace Rally at Kings’ Square in Tel Aviv. All eagerly awaited the words of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who said that night: ‘I always believed that most of the people want peace and are ready to take a risk for it.’ Little did he, or most in the crowd that night, know that these would be amongst the last words Rabin ever spoke. After singing ‘Shir L’Shalom’ (A Song of Peace), Rabin walked off the stage, and headed to his car. Along the way, Yigal Amir – an Israeli Jew – walked up to Prime Minister Rabin and shot him point blank. Rabin died later that evening and Israel, the Peace Process and world history was forever altered.

Dan Ephron’s book is detailed and provides insight that teaches us about the complexities of Israeli society and politics, how those complexities continue to shape Israeli society in 2023 and about ourselves as American Jews who have a deep love for the people and State of Israel.
It is not a prerequisite to read the book prior to attending, although it is recommended. The book is available through all major book sellers, including Amazon and Barnes and Noble. :
