Our Infant Center

We are very excited to have the opportunity to care for our youngest children at Shir Ami Early Learning Center. We understand that babies have a vast array of needs but that it’s also a time of extraordinary growth and building foundations that will last forever. Our goal is to bond with your child but also build a trusting relationship between families and teachers.
Shir Ami Infant Center teachers have the experience and knowledge to care for each baby’sphysical needs while focusing on developmental needs as well. Each baby has an individual schedule that is prescribed by the parent and changes as your baby grows.

Our Infant Center includes soft, cuddly toys, inviting, textured books, and colorful manipulative materials. Throughout the day your baby gets to experience music, outdoor time, story time, Shabbat and other activities that enhance a little one’s cognitive, social, emotional and motor
skills.

Through lots of holding, hugs and individual attention, our teachers have the opportunity to converse and connect with your baby in a positive way. Our teachers communicate about your baby’s day through daily reports and one on one interaction with each family.

Bright Beginnings: Making the Transition from Home to School

Good beginnings start as your child takes the first steps to learn routines and work on social and emotional development. Through music, movement, and more, attention is given to physical development in a warm and loving environment. Our language rich class fosters communication and speech development.

2-Year Olds: Foundations for Learning

Gross motor skills are learned with a focus on developing eye-hand coordination through progressive play and experiential learning. Throughout the year, your child will begin to develop emotional, physical and intellectual skills while learning important social skills. Our teachers lay the academic foundation for your child’s development and encourage each student to be independent while building appropriate relationships with other children and his or her teachers.

3-Year Olds: Growth and Academic Preparation

Children engage in process-oriented learning. Through interactive play, they learn to recognize social cues. Per-math and pre-reading readiness begins with an introduction of numbers and letters. Classroom academics are designed to increase verbal and language arts skills. Our nurturing staff will foster self-esteem and independence to enhance your child’s growth..

Pre-K / 4-Year Olds: Social and Academic Development

This transitional year will bridge your child’s development using experiential learning and skill advancement in the formal structure of a school day. Learning centers continue your child’s development through imagination, creativity, social interaction and planned rotations between academic subjects and specials. Our Math and Science enrichment afternoons enhance curiosity and motivation. Your child will have fun while learning the necessary skills for kindergarten and beyond.

Kindergarten: School Readiness

Our state licensed, innovative PA Standards Kindergarten curriculum includes social studies, math, language arts, science, reading readiness and creative arts. The Second Step Violence Prevention Curriculum is introduced to help practice many social and emotional skills.

Here, a low student-to-teacher ratio allows your child to receive individualized attention while building a solid foundation for academic and social success in grades ahead. Teachers engage multiple learning strategies
